The first Ed Sullivan Really BIG Shew was a smash success, according to the 96 people who joined in the fun on Friday, April 23 at the BCP Events Center. (See our Photo Album at the bottom of this post). Based on the feedback, there is rousing approval to do it again in the future. We have 3 more completely different shows on DVD, so if you’d like to see this happen again, use the Poll below to let us know!
The evening included performances by Elvis Presley, Mamas & Papas, The Supremes, Little Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Jim Morrison & The Doors, The Beach Boys, The Temptations, The Four Seasons and many more! Between band performances, film clips of news of the 60′s and profiles of the bands were informative and entertaining. The crowd was singing along, clapping to the time of the music and even some dancing went on. The weather cooperated and the Riverside Patio seating was very popular….viewing through the solid glass walls was easy and outdoor speakers brought the music right to the patio.
The big screen (courtesy of Bud Huber) gave a great view to everyone, and the speakers provided ample sound. Thanks to Jim Eickhoff, who manufactured a metal case for Newton Osborne’s great projector. And a HUGE thanks to Howard Hill for handling all the technical aspects of the show, including the donation and installation of his amplifiers, speakers and cabling. A new ceiling mount was installed as a permanent addition to the Hexagon Room and now there’s a 75′ cable to connect computer equipment to projection systems.
Complete our poll below to let us know if you want an encore performance (an entirely new show).
