June 15, 2010 Council Meeting

BCP COUNCIL MEETING

June 15, 2010

The meeting was called to order by Dave Ross, President, at 1:10 PM.  The minutes of the last meeting were not received by the council due to a technical error, and will be resent.  Changes in position names were corrected to Operations Director, Marketing Director, and Creative Director.

Erin reported that we now have 307 members.  25 have dues due in June.  Penny would like the e-mail list cleaned up.

Bob reported on building issues.  Jack fixed the gate.  The back door is secured.  The ditch will be next, then putting in the new back door.  The entrance to the parking lot needs more gravel.  There are also leaks in the Hexagon Room and the theater.

Bob also reported on financial issues.  We have deposits of 900+, and outstanding checks of 800+.  We have not purchased the projector, and Susan has not talked with Dan about checking it out.  Lane will be back next Tuesday late.

Vicki reported on bookings: AIB Fathers’ Day event on Friday.  The bed on stage needs to be dismantled for the piano concert on June 26 and 27.  The AIB Teachers’ conference will be July 1,2, and 3 in the Hex room.  Alto al Crimen workshop is July 17, 9 – 4 PM, as a community service event.  There are 3 events at the same time on July 2: teachers, rehearsal, BCP membership meeting.  Prospects include 20/30 club looking at BCP for their annual convention next June 24-25.  Vicki will be away June 23rd – July 7.  Bob will handle the TMM, Rotary, and the AIB conference.  Penny will handle e-mails and phone calls.  Dave will handle the concerts and contracts.

Bob is setting up fundraising lunches.  He has 3 big Panamanians in mind.

Leara knows she needs more rewrite on her play.  For now, she wants to direct a female version of The Odd Couple.  Opening date could be October 11 or 18.   She also wants to start an acting class, with the first 3 sessions free.  It will be open to all for 3 classes, and then she will do a cut.  The board will discuss these items, and she will meet with Vicki to talk about doing these as BCP productions.

Penny presented BCP Advertising Program rates:  Approved.  She decided to wait to discuss the sponsorship program as there seems to be a lot of input from the council, and time was short.

Parking lot:  Not being worked on yet as the workers are still on the river.

Online access to the bank account will continue to be for Lane only.

Bulletin Board:  BCP business only.  We approved $20 to put up a community bulletin board.  Nikki and Vicki will maintain.

Rich Cacianti will try to get something going for the jam session.

Erin’s banners are done and were displayed onstage at the TMM.

We are waiting for info on use of the grand piano from LEAF and Hogar Trisker before we decide about taking it.

Meeting adjourned at 3:11 PM.
